Begun in 894 by the Saffarid Amr ibn-e Laith, the building has suffered the vicissitudes of earthquake, devastation and restoration, and its earlier element now visible in the curious Khoda Khaneh (House of the God) in the center of the court, added by Is’haq Inju in 1351 (and restored in mid-40s) to house copies of the blessed Koran. It was built in imitation of Ka’ba at Mecca, round which pilgrims were bound as a religious act to circumambulate seven times. In each corner there stands a tower and on each side an ivan supported by two pillars, forming a room in the center where a Koran is kept. On the exterior of the structure is an inscription in Thulth script, the work of the celebrated calligrapher of the period, Yahya al-Sufi al-Jamali. The inscription in relief is on stone and is the only one of its kind to be found in a mosque in Iran. To the south of the mosque, is a large shabestan (prayer hall) and the facade of the ivan on this side is decorated with delightful mosaic faience dating from the reign of the Safavid Shah Soleiman (16th century).

Shah_e_cheragh Or Seyed Amir Ahmad...!

Shah Cheragh is the tomb of Seyed Amir Ahmad, known as Shah-e Cheragh, the brother of Imam Reza, came to Shiraz in the latter half of the 8th century. My most important reason is that there are majors which it is better to be single sex.For example, the majors like medicine are beter to be held with single sex system.Besides, there are many other majors like psychology to be held with the system of co-education.
Some times,co-education system is good. For example a student may not be comfortable with the other sex,in classes while studyingshe or he learns how to have relationship with other sex,so he or she will improve her or his self confidence. So in this way co-education can be usefull.
Because humanbeings' societies always have both sexes living together girls and boys had better to have experience. The best places for having this experience are studying <img style="FLOAT: right; I think it is better for all the people in charge to think of the best and the most suitable way of teaching and then dicide which way to be used, instead of totally agreeing with one way or another and being against of other ways.

My Best Or Worst Experience,Who Knows?!

<img style="FLOAT: left; Our first and most important reason is that,we believe that birth and death are the things that only God can control. As a result when you try to change them you are interrupting God's willing.
Another reason is that,as a moslem we believe in MIRACLE.We think that maybe God will give the patient another chance of living. That is what in my culture is called REBIRTH.
And at last ,let's forget about religion, there can always be the hope finding new cure for non_cureable diseases. So we should not take some one's chance of living from him or her.
So,at the end I not only as a moslem but also as a human really disagree with mercy killing because I believe in reality it is not a help to the patient and it is not MERCI.

Persepolis Or Takht_e_Jamshid:

<img style="FLOAT: left; It is assumed that Darius I began work on the platform and its structures between 518 and 516 B.C., visualizing Persepolis as a show place and the seat of his vast Achaemenian Empire. He proudly proclaimed his achievement; there is an excavated foundation inscription that reads, "adeAnd Ahuramazda was of such a mind, together with all the other gods, that this fortress (should) be built. And (so) I built it. And I built it secure and beautiful and quate, just as I was intending to." But the security and splendor of Persepolis lasted only two centuries. Its majestic audience halls and residential palaces perished in flames when Alexander the Great conquered and looted Persepolis in 330 B.C. and, according to Plutarch, carried away its treasures on 20,000 mules and 5,000 camels.
From the time of its barbaric destruction until A.D. 1620, when its site was first identified, Persepolis lay buried under its own ruins. During the following centuries many people traveled to and described Persepolis and the ruins of its Achaemenid palaces. In the ancient times each of the items corresponded to one of the seven creations and the seven holy immortals protecting them. Today they are changed and modified but some have kept their symbolism. All the seven items start with the letter "S"; this was not the order in ancient times. Zoroastrians today do not have the seven "S" but they have the ritual of growing seven seeds. The ancient Iranians also grew seven seeds as a reminder that this is the seventh feast of the creation, while their sprouting into new growth symbolized the festival's other aspect as a feast of resurrection and of eternal life to come. Wheat or lentil representing new growth is grown in a flat dish a few days before the New Year and is called Sabzeh (meaning green shoots). Decorated with colorful ribbons it is kept till the last day and will be disposed off on Sizdeh be dar, the 13th day while outdoors. A few live gold fish (the most easily obtainable animal) are placed in a fish bowl. In the old days they would be returned to the riverbanks, but today most people will keep them till they die. Mirrors are placed on the spread with lit candles as a symbol of fire. Zoroastrians today place the lit candle in front of the mirror to increase the reflection of the light. Mirrors were significant items in Zoroastrian symbolism art and architecture, and still are an integral part of most Iranian celebrations including marriage ceremony. They are used extensively in Iranian mystical literature as well and represent self-reflection. All Iranian burial shrines are still extensively decorated with mirrors, a popular decorative style of the ancient times. Light is regarded as sacred by the Zoroastrians and the use of mirrors multiplies the reflection of the light. Wine was always present. Since the Muslim conquest it has been replaced by vinegar since alcohol is banned in Islam. Egg a universal symbol of fertility corresponding to the mother earth, Sepanta Armaiti is still present. The eggs are hard-boiled and traditionally are colored in red, green or yellow, colors favored by Zoroastrians. Recently following the Easter Egg tradition, any color is used and they are elaborately decorated. The eggs are offered to children as treats. Fresh garlic is used to warn off bad omen. This is a modern introduction. There is no evidence that it was used in this context before. However the ancient Iranians would grow seven different herbs for the New Year and garlic might have been one of those. Samano a thick brownish paste is present today. It is a nutritious meal and could have been part of the feasts. It is also possible that it has replaced Haoma. This is a scared herbal mix known for its healing properties. It was a major cult on its own with many rituals and ceremonies. The cult is still performed by the Zoroastrians today, but is abandoned by the rest of the Iranians. Coins symbolizing wealth and prosperity, fruits and special sweets and baked goods are present as well. (Courtesy of Massoume Price) A few days prior to the New Year, a special cover is spread on to the Persian carpet or on a table in every Persian household. This ceremonial table is called cloth of seven dishes, (each one beginning with the Persian letter cinn). The number seven has been sacred in Iran since the ancient times, and the seven dishes stand for the seven angelic heralds of life-rebirth, health, happiness, prosperity, joy, patience, and beauty. The symbolic dishes consist of: Sabzeh or sprouts, usually wheat or lentil representing rebirth. Samanu is a pudding in which common wheat sprouts are transformed and given new life as a sweet, creamy pudding and represents the ultimate sophistication of Persian cooking. Seeb means apple and represents health and beauty. Senjed the sweet, dry fruit of the Lotus tree, represents love. It has been said that when lotus tree is in full bloom, its fragrance and its fruit make people fall in love and become oblivious to all else. Seer which is garlic in Persian, represents medicine. Somaq sumac berries, represent the color of sunrise; with the appearance of the sun Good conquers Evil. Serkeh or vinegar, represents age and patience.

SOMETHING TO REMEMBER...!

<img style="FLOAT: left; The most probable date is either 1320, or 1325 a.d.
Place:
Shiraz, in South-central Iran
Name
Shamseddin Mohammad
Family
Pen-Name
Hafiz or Hafez (a title given to those who had memorized the Koran by heart. It is claimed that Hafiz had done this in fourteen different ways).
Full Title
Khajeh Shamseddin Mohammad Hafiz-s ShiraziOther variations of spelling are: Khwajeh Shams al-Din Muhammad Hafez-e Shirazi, or Khwaje Shams ud-Din Mohammed Hafiz-e Shirazi
Father:
Baha-ud-Din
Brothers:
He had two older brothers
Wife:
Hafiz married in his twenties, even though he continued his love for Shakh-e Nabat, as the manifest symbol of her Creator's beauty.
Children:
Hafiz had one child.
Important Events
Teens
He had memorized the Koran by listening to his father's recitations of it. He also had memorized many of the works of his hero, Saadi, as wells as Attar, Rumi and Nizami.
Teens
His father who was a coal merchant died, leaving him and his mother with much debt. Hafiz and his mother went to live with his uncle (also called Saadi). He left day school to work in a drapery shop and later in a bakery.
Age 21(1341 ad)
While still working at the bakery, Hafiz delivered bread to a wealthy quarter of town and saw Shakh-e Nabat, a young woman of incredible beauty. Many of his poems are addressed to Shakh-e Nabat.
Age 21
In pursuit of reaching his beloved, Hafiz kept a forty day and night vigil at the tomb of Baba Kuhi. After successfully attaining this, he met Attar and became his disciple.
Early twenties to early thirties
Became a poet of the court of Abu Ishak. Gained much fame and influence in Shiraz. This was the phase of "Spiritual Romanticism" in his poetry.
Age 33
Mubariz Muzaffar captured Shiraz, and among his various deeds, he ousted Hafiz from his position of teacher of Koranic studies at the college. At this time he wrote protest poems.
Age 38
Shah Shuja took his tyrant father as prisoner, and re-instated Hafiz as a teacher at the college. He began his phase of subtle spirituality in his poetry.
Early forties
Falling out of favor with Shah Shuja.
Age 48
Hafiz fled Shiraz for his safety, and went into self-imposed exile in Isfahan. His poems mainly talk of his longing for Shiraz, for Shakh-e Nabat, and for his spiritual Master, Attar (not the famous Farid-uddin Attar of Neishabour - who predates Hafiz by a couple of centuries - but the lesser known Attar of Shiraz).
Age 52
By invitation of Shah Shuja, he ended his exile and returned to Shiraz. He was re-instated to his post at the College.
Age 60
Longing to be united with his Creator, he began a forty day and night vigil by sitting in a circle that he had drawn himself.
Age 60
On the morn of the fortieth day of his vigil, which was also on the fortieth anniversary of meeting his Master Attar, he went to his Master, and upon drinking a cup of wine that Attar gave him, he attained Cosmic Consciousness or God-Realization.
Sixties
In this phase, up to the age of 69 when he died, he composed more than half of his ghazals., and continued to teach his small circle of disciples. His poetry at this time, talk with the authority of a Master who is united with God.
Poetry
Divan-e-Hafiz
Some 500 ghazals, 42 Rubaiyees, and a few Ghaseedeh's, composed over a period of 50 years. Hafiz only composed when he was divinely inspired, and therefore he averaged only about 10 Ghazals per year. His focus was to write poetry worthy of the Beloved.
Compiler of Divan
Hafiz did not compile his poetry. Mohammad Golandaam, who also wrote a preface to his compilation, completed it in 813 A.H or 1410 a.d, some 21-22 years after Hafiz's death.
Also another person who compiled Hafiz's poetry was one of his young disciples Sayyid Kasim-e Anvar, who collected 569 Ghazals attributed to Hafiz. He died in 1431 a.d. some 42-43 years after Hafiz's death.
Death
Date:
Late 1388 or early 1389 a.d. or 791 A.H. at the age of 69.
Place:
Shiraz
Tomb:
in Musalla Gardens, along the banks of Ruknabad river in Shiraz, which is referred to as Hafezieh
Controversy:
The orthodox clergy who always opposed Hafiz, refused to allow him to have a Muslim burial. Yet his grass-roots support among the people of Shiraz created an atmosphere of conflict.
The Oracle:
To resolve the controversy, they decided to use Hafiz's poetry, by dividing his ghazals into couplets, and asking a young boy to draw a couplet. It was agreed that however the couplet directed them, they would all consent to follow.
The couplet that was chosen was verse 7 of Ghazal #79, which was a tongue-in-cheek response from Hafiz to the orthodox clergy. It reads:To this day, Hafiz's Divan (Poetry) is utilized as an Oracle to give guidance to our questions, and direction to realize our wishes.
After His Death
What others say about Hafiz:
Goethe: In his poetry Hafiz has inscribed undeniable truth indelibly ... Hafiz has no peer!
Emerson: Hafiz defies you to show him or put him in a condition inopportune or ignoble ... He fears nothing. He sees too far; he sees throughout; such is the only man I wish to see or be.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: ...You may remember the old Persian saying, 'There is danger for him who taketh the tiger cub, and danger also for whosoever snatches a delusion from a woman.' There is as much sense in Hafiz as in Horace, and as much knowledge of the world.
Edward Fitzgerald: The best musician of Words.
Gertrude Bell: It is as if his mental eye; endowed with wonderful acuteness of vision, had penetrated into those provinces of thought which we of a later age were destined to inhabit.
A. J. Arberry: ... Hafiz is as highly esteemed by his countrymen as Shakespeare by us, and deserves as serious consideration.

SAADI,A GREAT IRANIAN POET:
The lifetime of Saadi (also known by the name: Mosleh al-Din Saadi Shirazi) falls in a period of major political and social change in Iran and the whole of the Middle East (the decline of the Abbasid Empire with the invasion and subsequent wanton destruction by the Mongols). As a result of this, little is known about his life apart from what he wrote in his "so called " autobiographical works.
One of his nicest autobiographical stories, in the Golestan, tells the story of his release from slavery:
... He was imprisoned by the Crusaders and had to dig trenches in Tripoli until a Muslim merchant bought and freed him; but then his previous form of slavery was replaced by another, since he had to marry his benefactor's daughter....
What we know for sure is that he was born in Shiraz in the late 12th century AD (this is even questioned by some scholars who believe he was born in 1210) and began life as a student of the Koran, which he later exchanged for Sufism. During his life he travelled widely and returned to his native town some time around 1256. One usually assumes that Saadi travelled for some thirty years, and it was his experiences and his gift of acute observation that made him such a wonderful storyteller.
In 1257 he dedicated his Bustan, a book on moral virtues in the form of moralising anecdotes in verse, to Abu Bakr b. Sa'd (ruled Shiraz between 1226-60), and in the following year he completed the Golestan. The Golestan is mainly written in prose and contains stories and personal anecdotes. In it he contrasts the fate of those who depend on the moods of kings to the freedom of the dervishes. Its text is interspersed with a variety of short poems containing advice and humorous reflections.
Copies of both works were often penned by the masters of calligraphy and sometimes decorated with miniatures of great beauty.
Saadi displays great wisdom in all his works with an understanding of the human mind, and many of his lines and sayings have been frequently quoted.
He is also remembered as a great panegyrist and lyricist. He wrote many qasidas (long panegyrics) in Persian and Arabic, mystic ghazals (love poems) and satirical poetry.
Saadi is said to have died in 1290 and his tomb in Shiraz is a shrine. He remains the master of love poetry and one of the greatest poets that Persia has produced.

<img style="FLOAT: left;
